Get to Know Me

What began as a romance with words is now the craft I live by.

I am a Linguist, English Language Educator and Language Consultant, passionate about languages, literature, and the many ways in which language connects people, cultures and ideas.

I am multilingual, speaking Portuguese, English and Italian. I understand language learning not only from an academic and professional perspective, but also through the experience of navigating different linguistic and cultural worlds.

I see myself as a guide in the language-learning journey, helping learners develop not only linguistic competence, but also confidence, cultural awareness and the ability to communicate authentically.

I hold a degree in Languages and Literature from Faculdade da Terra de Brasília, but my academic journey began years earlier at the Centro de Línguas de Brasília. I further developed my academic expertise through studies in Applied Linguistics at the University of Southampton and TESOL at the University of Portsmouth, and obtained my English language proficiency certifications in England.

My professional experience includes working at the Ministry of Planning and teaching English to professionals from the Fire Brigade, Civil Police, Military Police and Federal Police of the Federal District. I have also taught at IALE Idiomas and the Centro de Línguas do Goiás, and worked as a Language Consultant for ACERBI Group in São Paulo.

Having lived in the United Kingdom for ten years has profoundly enriched my understanding of English as a living language. Throughout this time, my experiences travelling across Europe, South America and Brazil have broadened my worldview and deepened my understanding of cultural diversity, communication and human interaction.

These experiences have enriched my teaching methodology and shaped the way I approach communicative competence for learners from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. They have taught me that learning a language is also about understanding context, recognising cultural differences and learning how to communicate across boundaries.

This perspective is at the heart of why I founded Corpora ESOL Academy UK: to create a language-learning experience that goes beyond the textbook and brings together language, culture and real life.

My purpose is to guide learners towards confident, meaningful and culturally aware communication.
